First DIS2021 session now available on demand

The first session from this year’s Digital Innovators Summit (DIS) is now live and can be viewed here. It’s free for FIPP members, as well as this year’s DIS attendees, and if you haven’t yet signed up to the two-month seminar series you can do so here.

Traditionally taking place in Berlin in March, the DIS is Europe’s premier digital media event, and presented in partnership between FIPP and VDZ (the Association of German Magazine Publishers). This year due to the coronavirus pandemic we’ve taken things online, and will instead be presenting a seminar series of five virtual seminars taking place between now and the beginning of May.

In this kick-off session, FIPP CEO James Hewes, and John Wilpers, author of the Innovation in Media World Report are joined by Meredith Corp’s Liz Vaccariello, Editor-in-Chief, Real Simple and Dan Wakeford, Editor-in-Chief, People magazine, on the topic of managing people during a pandemic. From addressing mental health concerns while working from home, to keeping staff safe in-person on photo shoots, the panel examine all aspects of virtual working.

“The biggest challenge and changes have to do with staff’s mental health and the extra stress that comes with the fact that we are all more available for meetings,” says Wakeford. “With back-to-back meetings all day there is no time to think and breathe. Everybody is having longer days now that you are working in the place that you live.”

Attendance of the DIS series is free to FIPP members, just €99 for non-members, and all attendees will also receive a digital edition of the digital edition of the Innovation Report absolutely free. You can find out more here
